last birthday post...finally!

Whew...last birthday post to add so when I get my blog printed by year into a book, it's included! :)

Evan started off the day playing with his new Bat cave from mommy, daddy, and Alex. He was in heaven!

After church, we headed to Bonkers. Mike's parents joined us and everyone had a blast! We ate lunch and played until it was almost nap time. Once we got home, Alex slept for 2 hours and Evan took a 3 hour nap!!

After they woke up, we headed to my friend Deb's house to see her horse boarding/stables. I had to help her finish her wedding invitation labels and Evan LOVES horses, so it was a win-win on his birthday. :)

Happy Birthday!

Whew...almost done

I am definitely all birthday-ed out. May is a crazy busy month with celebrations. In our immediate family we have my Mom and sister in law both on May 3rd. My brother in law and Alex both on May 11th. My brother on the 14th. My birthday on the 21st and Evan's birthday on the 27th. It feels like we've been celebrating all month long...and looking back, we have! whew. I have just a few more birthday posts to share and then I promise I'll post about other things! I promise!

I want to finish up posting about our St. Louis birthday party.
Here's the link to see most of the decorations.

It was so amazing to see so many kids dressed up as Superheros or have on a Superhero shirt. I'm glad everyone had a great time. :)

Last day....

Well...we made it! :)
The last day of school was today. So thankful to have had a great experience getting back into teaching.
I'm excited summer is here though. :)
We've been trying to get the house back in order from our busy weekend (laundry, unpacking, etc).
Getting Alex healthy...poor guy has some sort of virus with canker sores in his mouth. Thankfully since his tubes were put in last Monday, he doesn't have an ear infection. Just a sore mouth and a 101* fever :(
Planning for Evan's field trip tomorrow (and his bday celebration with his preschool friends/teachers)
Mike's work BBQ
Memorial Day weekend plans (parade, Evan's birthday, church, and the circus!)

Happy Thursday and TGIF tomorrow friends!

Superhero Birthday Decorations

I want to share some of my ideas and where I got certain things in case you ever want to have a Superhero party. Other ideas can be found here on my Pinterest Superhero board. This was a party for my 1 and 3 year old. There were about 28 kids there and 32 adults. Our first birthday tradition on my mom's side is huge since there are 10 brothers and sisters and tons of my cousins and their kiddos. Lots of chaos, but lots of fun too! :)

Invitations I made in Word and just downloaded free fonts for superheros. Just google free fonts and then type in batman, spiderman, hulk, avengers, ironman, etc. This is also a great site for free fonts to use. That's also how I also made the Birthday Subway Art in the 2nd picture too. Then to get it to print at Sams or Costco (which is the cheapest in my opinion) just google "word to jpeg converter" and that should help when saving the document. Then you can print whatever size you need as a picture. :)

Invitations idea was from here and here

The 1, 3, E and A were from Michaels and I just spray painted the letters and then used spray glue for the numbers and covered them in comic book pages.
The table also had their one year scrapbooks and their monthly picture book.
The Subway Art was again, made in microsoft word with different fonts and then just printed to the size I needed.
The picture of the boys in their capes, I used the free downloaded font, typed in the quote and saved it that way. I then uploaded it to Sam's Club and had them make it into a canvas. I love this!!!

Goodie bag ideas from here...and here.
Inside each bag I bought some Superhero coloring books that were in the dollar section at Target (I put about 6-8 sheets inside each bag). I also put in Avenger erasers (Target party aisle), crayons (Target party aisle) and also a piece of chalk in the shape of a Superhero. The chalk was purchased from Etsy here...
The easiest way for me to make the bags was to get the colored bags (Target) and then just cut out construction paper to add to the bag with adhesive. The printed out the Superhero signs (Flash, Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Super girl and Wonder woman) from the internet.

The city backdrop idea was from Life Abundant and was easy to do. I think it makes a huge difference in the decorations! :) Tablecloths were from Target in the party aisle. (I guess it's a good thing that the Avengers movie just came out! ha!)

Happy Birthday banner from Etsy SIMONEmadeit

Minimalist pictures from here and just printed and spray glued onto posters. Here's another set too. :)

Comic book pages spray glued onto posterboard.

Batcave Sign was made from Etsy by KallieGalaz
The pictures of the boys was taken when we passed through Metropolis, IL. :)

Banner idea from here and letters from here
Posterboard was just used with comic book pages

Sign was just posterboard with comic book pages taken from a comic book. I used spray glue to keep them on the board and then just used construction paper and pictures of the boys. Super easy! The spider web was purchased on Amazon here.

Superhero masks were purchased from Etsy at KimberlysDexterity and I knew I needed more, so I just bought foam pieces at Michaels and made more of the same style. I hot glued the elastic to the back and the cut out foam from the eyes was used to keep the elastic down. I made 35 of these and then 20 more for Evan's preschool party. They are really easy to do once you get going and into a rhythm. :)

Birthday shirts were purchased from Etsy from ThisPretty
Love them! :)

Cakes were made from one of Mike's co-workers. So thankful for her and her amazing ability because Evan is allergic to eggs and all three of the cakes were egg free and they were delicious!!!
